About Us

Laura is the founder of EDI Geek, LLC. and has over 18 years of practical career experience in EDI and B2B integration. In her senior year at Mary Baldwin College, she had the opportunity to intern with R.R. Donnelley and Sons Company in Harrisonburg, VA. There, she worked on a team within the Information Technology Department that specialized in research and development for the other five R.R. Donnelley and Sons Company divisions. It was this opportunity that introduced Laura to EDI.

Majoring in Computer Science and Business Administration, Laura discovered the best of both worlds with EDI. She found herself challenged by the technical aspects of EDI. In addition, she enjoyed building relationships with the internal business, learning the internal business processes, building relationships with the external trading partners and learning their technical capabilities and business processes to facilitate the exchange of electronic data.

After graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Mary Baldwin, she accepted a full time position with R.R. Donnelley and Sons Company working on their EC/EDI team as their Customer/Business Process Coordinator. She feels fortunate to have found a career she feels so passionate about. She has spent the past 18 years specializing in EDI. Laura has been recognized for steering efficiency improvements, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and partnering with executive-level decision makers to recommend business-critical technical solutions.
